Smelling Turkey?

I recall, and you may recall, several years ago we put our big stuffed turkey in the oven on Christmas morning. After two hours of cooking at 325 degrees all of us agreed that the smells coming from the oven were mouth-watering.

Another 45 minutes passed and I decided to check how the turkey was doing. was it shimmering in juices? Was it starting to turn a golden brown? Did it continue to smell as great as it had?

Nope! I'd forgotten to turn on the oven so none of my questions were answered in the affirmative. Our imaginations have been working overtime.

That big bird was delicious! Perhaps it was the way it was prepared, or perhaps it was because we were hungry, eating two and a half hours late.
